Floroyal Daylami x Castanea Sonneteer

Optigen Affected for prcd-PRA, Normal/Clear for FN

This was the lovely "Rhona", bred by Ruth Clarke (Caefardre Cockers). She was by the CC winning dog, Floroyal Daylami & her dam was by Castanea Sonneteer, a son of Shenmore Sonnet (full sister to Seeing Stars) With her gentle, affectionate nature, she was a real pleasure to live with. At 7 months old, she got off to a lovely start by winning BPIS at S Wales & Mon Cocker Club Open Show (her first show!) Her success continued into the next year with BPIS at Particolour Open Show & Best Puppy Bitch at North of England Cocker Club Ch Show (also shortlisted for the CC!) At 13 months old, she won BIS at Devon & Cornwall Cocker Club Open Show, followed by a second BIS at S Wales & Mon Cocker Club Open Show where she gained the final point for her Junior Warrant.

But the best was yet to come.......... At the **COCKER SPANIEL CLUB CENTENARY CH SHOW 2002**(total entry 529 Cockers), at just under 16 months old, Rhona was awarded her first CC by Mrs F Somerfield from a huge entry of bitches. A truly unforgettable day!!! Less than a week later, she won her 2nd CC at Leeds Ch Show under breed specialist, Mrs L Whiteley. She gained that all-important 3rd CC at North Wales Cocker Club Championship Show under breed specialist, Mrs J Hill making her a Show Champion at 19 months old. What a year!!

After a well-deserved break from the show ring, Rhona was very lightly shown in 2003 while we waited for her coat to return but came back to win her 4th CC & BOB at Leeds Ch Show (her lucky show!) under breed expert, Penny Lester & was shortlisted in the Gundog Group under Mrs P Grayson.

In February 2004, Rhona had her first and only litter to our own Shenmore Star Voyager (Optigen tested A1). Her daughter, Shenmore Siani JW, won BPIB & the RCC at Crufts 2005 & her first CC at 14 months old. Her son Shenmore Star Myth (owned by Sue Hacker) has also had some nice wins, including a 1st at Crufts in 2006 and also gained his Junior Warrant. Rhona went to live in happy retirement with Kevin and Margaret in Lincolnshire who were devoted to this sweet, gentle girl.
