SORBROOK BUCKS FIZZ x SHENMORE SNOWDROP

Optigen Tested Normal/Clear for prcd-PRA and FN

This was "Ruby", our first home-bred orange & white Cocker. She was a daughter of our Shenmore Snowdrop and shared her sweet, gentle personality. She loved everybody, human and canine, and was always at the forefront of the Shenmore greeting party when anyone came to visit, daring anyone to ignore her!

Ruby had a lovely puppy career with many wins to her credit. At just 8 months old, Ruby won Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy In Show at Yorkshire Cocker Club Championship Show, following in her Mum's footsteps as Lily also won her first BPIS as a Minor Puppy! This was followed by Best Puppy Bitch & BPIS at North Wales Cocker Club Ch Show, BPB & BPIS at Devon & Cornwall Cocker Club Ch Show & BPIB at LKA Ch Show.

These wins made Ruby ***COCKER PUPPY OF THE YEAR 2002*** under the Cocker Club points competition & Top Cocker Puppy 2002 (Our Dogs/Pedigree competition), something that has not been achieved by any other orange & white Cocker, to our knowledge. On her first birthday, she won the final point needed for her Junior Warrant and just a week later, she won her first breed club BIS (at West of England's Open Show)

Ruby won her first CC at Driffield Ch Show in 2003, under breed specialist, Mrs L Palmer, followed by the RCC at Midland Counties. At Crufts in 2004, she won the Mid Limit Bitch class followed by her 2nd CC at Midland Cocker Ch Show under breed specialist, Sue Pudney. Her 3rd CC came at Southern Counties under breed specialist, Poppy Becker.

Ruby had just two litters and her winning progeny include our own Shenmore Sunny Jim (2 CCs, 4 RCCs) and his sister Suddenly Sunshine.

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our special girl on June 6th 2016 at 14 1/2 years of age. Although she was a superstar in the show ring and a lovely mum to her puppies (indeed all puppies not just her own), it is as the sweetest, kindest little Cocker that she will be missed most - a huge void has been left here which will never be filled but we are so grateful we were given the privilege of sharing our lives with her for so many years. Sleep tight Ruby xx
